| Wanna make your own DVD releases? Go for it. |
| Here's some Tips & Tricks for making your own: |
| |
| • Always use DVD-R's. DVD+R and DVD+RW have limited compatibility, |
| and they tend to not last so long. |
| • DVD-R's should be disposable. |
| • Try to buy DVD-R's in Spindles, unless you specifically want the cases. |
| • DVD's should be cheap. |
| • DVD's are LOW resolution, Typically 640x480. |
| • DVD's are typically 4:3, but modern TV's are 16x9 (Widescreen). You can author Widescreen DVD's, and DVD players can stretch the image to accommodate. |
| • DVD's are typically 60i, also known as 30fps. |
| • BURN for Mac OS is free. Don't buy software to burn DVD's. |
| • HANDBRAKE for encoding your videos on Mac & Windows is free. Don't buy software to encode your videos. |
| • When encoding your video, don't encode higher than 6mbps CBR. This will give you stable playback on even the cheaper DVD players. |
| • Consider the cheapest packaging possible. Refer to the Folding Instructions up top for an idea. |
| • Remember - no one can censor what you put on a DVD. No Copyright Strikes, No DMCA Takedowns. Go fucking nuts, your freak. |
